Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise (MIKE) Award Launching Ceremony
Speech by Dr John Dumay (Chairman)
“It is my great pleasure to attend the Asian Knowledge Forum cum MAKE Award Presentation Ceremony.
Teleos, in association with The KNOW Network, established the Global Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) research program in 1998. A number of regional and national MAKE studies have been conducted annually. Since its birth, the MAKE Award has witnessed a progressive maturing of knowledge management, which enabled the making of many successful companies and organizations worldwide. Due to the retirement of Mr Rory Chase of Teleos based in London, he announced the successful completion of this Global MAKE Award in 2017.
After closing of the Award, an international working group has been formed to continue and build upon the MAKE framework to a new dimension, through the MIKE Awards which stand for the Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise. This was announced by Rory in last December before its closing. The new drive in KM now is how innovative enterprises are operating in our continually changing world. The criteria of MIKE Award is based on the original MAKE framework, with an increased emphasis on innovation. We believe the MIKE Award will serve as both a diagnosis tool for improving innovations in enterprises, and used for international benchmarking. As we develop the MIKE framework, we will seek feedback from all stakeholders and we will announce the details soon on the website of the Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Centre of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I in the first round we anticipate to have companies from Hong Kong, mainland China, Iran, Australia, New Zealand and hopefully Finland participating the first round of the MIKE Award program.
Let me thank you all for contributing to the past success of MAKE Award and look forward to your participation and continued support to MIKE Award. And I want to especially thank Mr. Rory Chase for his outstanding stewardship of the MAKE Awards, and wish him happiness in retirement. Thank you.”
